Week 9: Reflections/Lessons Learned

This week was a whirlwind as I was helping out on three very different projects, in program, phase, and size. First there is The Jasper, a high end mixed use structure soon to go up on the peninsula, then there were a couple of small things I was helping out with in a large Myrtle Beach development, and then the restaurant project that is just getting started. I've learned a little this week not to get to wrapped around a single project as an intern, as I'm likely to get moved around to projects that need the most help. Which is good - I get experience very different scales, locations, and programs.
(Pictured above is a quick drawing I did for an option for facade layout on the restaurant - it is an existing structure but the programmatic layout on the inside is still to be determined. It is interesting how clients work - we are just getting the project started but there is already a kind of tile picked out, a 1M x 3M module for the facade. We are working it in fairly early in the project.)
