Reflections

It has already been 6 weeks. Tempus fugit!

This week we ended up going back to a site a second time, because I had assumed I wouldn't need any more measurements after the first visit, and I ended up missing some measurements. Maybe it wouldn't have happened if we had more time to familiarize with the project, and understand what measurements were required before we went to the site. But time is a luxury that isn't always available as we work to get multiple things done. It is unwise to expect everything to be executed perfectly the first time.

During a visit to another site, I took measurements of details that had slipped our attention the first time, and also details that had changed as part of the ongoing construction. Mistakes happen, changes always happen, and an iterative process helps to refine the drawings progressively. It is better to have just enough information to get the ball rolling, and then come back and collect more information as and when required.
