VISHNU — WEEK 11

I love Novembers because the mood always lightens up as we approach the holiday season, and the weather's great. This week was probably the most fun at office too — music, site visits, donuts, the quick lunch-breaks, red-lines and dead lions.

Being here in Charleston has been great because I'd rather be busy with ten different things than be stuck with one thing in one place. There's never enough time to even start to get bored of anything. Or maybe there's just enough time to do just what needs to be done, and not much else. It helps to segment work-time from play-time, and not mix the two. This increases the quality of both work and play.

The constant commute between home, office and school makes it even more interesting as we rapidly approach the end of the semester. Movement is good. Like music, movement has this meditative quality about it that helps boost your mood, and helps me think better. I stumble upon some really great thoughts when I'm out running, or driving on the highway (or taking a shower). Later as I'm sitting in front of the computer I only have to hold on to those thoughts. Movement makes the pauses that much more worthy.

This weekend I drove around the islands near Charleston looking at the beaches, landscaping and local architecture (houses on stilts).

Movement. Pause. Waves.

A weekend of long drives. (Sullivan's Island)
