VISHNU — DAY 0

Hours worked: —

I come to the office with the intention of getting my revised contract signed by Luke, my mentor. While I'm waiting for him I get the opportunity to meet all my new colleagues. I meet Luke, and we walk to Artist and Craftsman Supply to get some stationary. Luke tells me about his background and the urban infill projects that Synchronicity works on. He mentions that their firm has kept a low profile and that most of the work isn't very 'romantic', but those projects in the pipeline are the ones that keep the firm running, enabling them to pursue the more creative projects. We discuss my goals and his expectations. He buys me a journal and asks me to keep an hour by hour record of all the tasks that I work on. Luke suggests that I go check out some of the project sites when I'm free.

Back at the office, Jian Fei shows me the office guidelines document, and I familiarize myself with the project folders structure. I visit 64 Spring St on the way back to the Cigar Factory.

Tasks: orientation, site visit

Project: 64 Spring St

Location: 64 Spring St, Charleston, SC

Type: residential

Phase: construction in progress

First view of the office I'll be going to for the rest of the semester. I've only seen street-view images of the interior before (which looks awesome). They're really successful at blending in with the city and keeping a low profile.

After leaving, I swing by 64 Spring St to check out the type and phase of the project.
