My biggest take away from this week is that for an architecture firm to thrive a good and efficient billing system must be in place. Additionally, architects must be very calculating in how they decide whether or not to take on a project and how they determine the fee for said project. The formula may not always be the same for every project but it is very important that it is there. Through sitting down with my principal and crunching the numbers I came to realize how business savvy successful architects must be and came to realize all the expenses in a firm that most people don't think about.
