This week I mostly worked on CSL Endwell NY. I actually went back to using skills I hadn’t used in quite a bit of time mostly to do with storefront. What I think is important to remember about storefronts is that when adding doors its crucial to select the glass first. I was also able to design where the mullions go and how that pattern interacts with the door(s). I think symmetry is important mostly when dealing with mullions also because it has to be done manually. For the second half of week I worked mostly with the canopies. CSL require canopies above large storefront areas and shipping areas. What is interesting about the canopies is how the metal is arranged. Typically, the metal standing seam runs anywhere from 12” to 24”. These are just facts I didn’t know and I’m glad Dana spent some time with me to explain how to create them and what they actually look like.
