Perry Hammond - Week Nine

This week was a short week, due to fall break on Monday and Tuesday. I got to continue working on the Florence Darlington Technical College Culinary School. Quite a mouthful. I worked on both renderings and construction drawings, which was neat because it allowed me to practice two very distinct means for visual communication, each suited for a specific purpose. Each task also required a slightly different mindset based on the end goal. Creating an image by which a contractor will assemble a building is done in a very different process than creating an image to show the owner what louvres could look like on the face of their building. Even though I have jumped in on this FDTC project in the middle of its life, I have been very rewarded in the things I have already learned and by being able to contribute to the progress and success of the project. I wish I could work Friday to help them get the drawings done, but I know they will get to a good spot before Monday. Claire, the project architect is a great communicator and I have noticed her keenness for keeping people productive and on schedule.
