Working two days this week was a little more manageable. Because of taking Labor Day off, I tried making some hours up by working a full day on Thursday which was nice. This week I realized that in a smaller firm, I have more control over what I’m doing, and not just simply following orders. When creating the trusses for the Bishop England Highschool Baseball Clubhouse, I modeled the roof and had to design the truss myself. I haven’t worked too much with designing structure before, so I enjoyed trying it on my own first and then having my boss review it and tell me if it was right or wrong. It made me appreciate working in a smaller firm because I am able to work on the parts I otherwise might not have.
