LESSONS LEARNED: This week I learned about getting a project permitted, and I was reminded of the phrase, “You will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” I went downtown with my mentor, Luke, and we spoke to a few people about a permit for a project that will soon be under construction. I am learning that building relationships with people is half the job of an architect. Luke knew several people we talked to, and they seemed happy to try to help him out. People need to know that you care about them and that you can be trusted.
