4 OCTOBER 2017, WEDNESDAY – DAY 21

TIME: 4 HRS

AXP HOURS: Project planning and design

Today I was asked to do a research on the pedestal system for deck support. Charleston apparently due to its zoning has to follow special hurricane prevention laws. As per this usually pedestal system are not used here, if used they have to have a wind load certification. Our exercise was to find a system which has a wind load certification and is cleaner and not visible.

It was interesting and fun to explore about this technology as it was completely new for me and being from India I had never heard of it.
